Rugby and sports

Initially, a keen athlete and football player, he carried on his love for playing and watching rugby until he hung up his boots at 60 - always taking his kit with him in case he was needed..... However, Lyndon managed to get him a game when he was 70 against Maidstone with the two of them playing together. His love of the club included a couple of years spending his weekends building the first OJ clubhouse on the existing TJ site in The Slade mainly with his fellow player John Edwards-Windsor and Gordon Young. Both Lyndon and Andy Young (Mike's God son) were the gofers during this time. Mike regularly attended the Old Juddian Dining Club lunches with some of his longest standing friends until December 2021.
