Mike was suffering with Dementia in his last few years but with his love of dogs, he managed to keep fit, mowing the lawns and walking anyone's dog until quite recently. However, he has whistled and sung all his life and this carried on, sometimes at unusual times but he never lost his humour or sarcasm. He remained devoted to Pat and loved seeing the family, or anyone actually.
